Our story
Before I built this,
I did it by hand.
I volunteered for a morning check-in programme — the kind where you call a list of seniors, one by one, to make sure they're okay. It was simple work: dial, wait, chat for a few minutes, move on.
But two things bothered me.
The first was the conversations that wanted to go longer. Some mornings a senior would be mid-story — about their garden, their week, a memory that had surfaced — and I'd have to gently wrap up because there were others still waiting. The call was supposed to be a check-in, not a visit. But for some of them, it was the only conversation they'd have that day.
The second was the coverage problem. The programme ran on volunteers, and there were never enough of us. Each volunteer could reach a handful of people in a morning — but the waiting list was long and the gaps between calls were longer. Entire streets. Entire buildings. People with no one reliable looking in, not because no one cared, but because there simply weren't enough hours or hands.
Senior Check-In started as an answer to both of those limits. An AI that can hold a real, unhurried conversation — one that doesn't have somewhere else to be — and that can be running those calls every morning, at scale, without anyone falling off a list.
The technology is new. The need isn't.
